Fiesta Latina is a fun JSIS school event to celebrate Latin culture and volunteers are needed to help plan this year's event (May 9th, 6:30-8:30 p.m.). We plan to keep the planning simple and efficient and meet in person only two times with the rest of the planning done via email or small group meetings as needed. Planning help is needed with the following tasks:
- Cultural performances
- Staff coordination/cultural booths
- Treasure/scavenger hunt
- Day-of volunteer coordinator
- Art table
Planning committee sign up sheet.
For more information, please attend the March 11th meeting or contact Sonia Pelkowski and/or Ingrid Wertz.
Two important things:
- We have two new editor positions open: Pop and Layout. The deadline to apply is Monday 3/10, and applications are available online and outside the office.
- The deadline for articles and the invention contest is Monday 3/17.
week 10 (Feb 24-28) and week 11 (Mar 3-7).
Exciting news! We have received a mini grant from the Seattle Department of Transportation and Safe Routes to School. The grant will be used for Bike to School Month (May, 2014) and other Safe Routes to School activities. Stay tuned for more information once the weather starts warming up in the new year.
